LINCOLN GOLD BEGINS DRILLING AT LINCOLN FLAT GOLD PROPERTY, NEVADA
Carson City, Nevada – July 7, 2005 - LINCOLN GOLD CORP (OTCBB: LGCP) is pleased to announce that it has commenced drilling on the Company's 100%-controlled, early-stage Lincoln Flat gold property in the southern Singatze Range, approximately 8 miles northwest of the copper mining town of Yerington, NV. Lincoln plans to drill 9 reverse-circulation holes using a track-mounted drill rig for a total footage of at least 4,500 feet. Drilling will focus on 5 areas defined by anomalous gold in bedrock and soils. Four holes will test a gold-hematite breccia target in the immediate vicinity of the old "Iron Cap" exploration adit where dump material contains ore-grade gold. Favorable hematite breccia is exposed at the surface on a hill behind the old workings and the mineralized area has never been drilled. Two angle holes are planned to test a structural zone approximately 1400 feet northeast of the "Iron Cap" target. The structural zone locally contains gold values in bedrock exceeding 1 ounce per ton and was exploited in the 1930's by shallow underground workings; this target has never been drilled. Exploration drilling will also test 3 geochemical gold targets that are widely spaced on the claim block, where property access and logistics are excellent.
In addition, on July 5, Lincoln initiated a mercury soil gas survey on its JDS gold property in the Cortez Trend, Nevada. Mercury soil gas has been demonstrated to accumulate over Carlin-type gold deposits within the Trend. Eight survey lines consisting of a total of about 250 sample stations will traverse the property. Work should be completed about mid-July and results will be plotted in an effort to help determine drill targets over buried "lower plate" host rocks which are favorable for large gold deposits.
