LINCOLN TO DRILL HERCULES GOLD-SILVER PROPERTY
VANCOUVER, BC, CANADA - June 29, 2004 - LINCOLN GOLD CORP. (OTCBB:LGCP) is pleased to announce that it plans to commence drilling on the Hercules gold-silver property in late July. The property is located approximately 17 miles east of Carson City in Lyon County, Nevada. Drilling is designed to test deeper levels of the vein system for bonanza-grade gold and silver.
The Hercules property is in the northern Pine Nut Range and consists of 40 unpatented lode claims that cover an extensive epithermal vein system. The vein system is similar to the nearby Comstock Lode and the bonanza-grade Midas vein system in north-central Nevada. Geologic mapping and sampling as well as past shallow drilling indicate the potential for high-grade ore shoots at depth. Target areas are 1 ounce per ton (opt) gold and 30 opt silver.Lincoln has contracted Drift Exploration Drilling to drill four (4) reverse circulation angle (-60 degree) holes to a depth of 900 feet each for a total footage of 3600 feet. BLM permitting is in place. The holes should encounter the steeply dipping vein system at 500 feet to 700 feet down the vein(s) dip. A certified lab will provide analytical services.Lincoln is also advancing gold exploration on its Hannah and Lincoln Flats properties in western Nevada and the JDS property in the Battle Mountain - Cortez gold trend. The Battle Mountain-Cortez gold Trend has heated up significantly in the last couple weeks, as Placer Dome acknowledged rumors about its Cortez Hills discovery at its 60%-owned Cortez property. Placer Dome has announced mineral reserve and resource estimates at Cortez Hills totaling 6.75 million ounces of gold, and rumors suggest the deposit could be much larger. Placer Dome has an ongoing program to drill between 100 and 200 holes at the Cortez Hills deposit during 2004. To date 44 holes have been completed.The Company has also closed a private placement of 700,000 shares at $0.50 for gross proceeds of $350,000.Lincoln Gold’s JDS property in the Battle-Mountain-Cortez gold trend adjoins Placer Dome’s active exploration project in the Cortez trend.
